Working in Kenya with Microsoft
Chuck spent the week of 15 February, 2010 working in Nairobi with a group of senior leaders from Microsoft.
The team used Action Learning to help a UN agency solve a tough challenge.

22 August 2009 Presentation at 2009 JobEQ Annual Conference in Eeklo, Belgium
Chuck presented the results of a study of the motivational patterns of 12 CEOs of firms who had won the Malcolm Baldridge National Baldrige Award. Conference attendees—all experts in the use of the Inventory of Work Attitude and Motivation (www.jobEQ.com) –came from the UK, Poland, China, Australia, Italy, United States and Belgium.

Chuck, Board Chair of the Student Support Center, honoring its Founder, Eve Brooks at the 10 year anniversary celebration. The Center provides technical assistance and support in order to create positive, healthy and safe school climates in Washington DC Public Charter Schools.

July 2008:Singapore Institute of Management
Chuck taught 20 consulting skills to 20 human resource professionals at the Singapore Institute of Management in July 2008. The program is part of The George Washington University’s graduate program in Human Resource Development in Singapore and Hong Kong.

The Leadership SIG has been divided into two sections – DC and Virginia. We’re the Virginia group, led by Chuck Appleby (Appleby & Associates) and Martin Cohen (Fortuna Training LLC). Chuck facilitated a dialog about his experience working with the Microsoft Leadership Development program. Action Learning is one of the pillars of the Microsoft Expo Program. Leaders bring corporate challenges to the table and teams of 5-6 emerging leaders spend 3 days developing solutions using action learning coaching.

Chuck Appleby was elected in January to the Chairman of the Board of the Student Support Center. The Center is a DC non-profit that provides mental health and other services to strengthen the learning environment in DC Public Charter Schools.

Chuck Appleby was elected as the new Board Chair of the Student Support Center The Center is the only DC Charter School support organizations that provide hands-on assistance and training that urban schools need to succeed in creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Over 30% of the school age population in the District attends Charter Schools.
